Dr. Sweety Garg is a distinguished academician, researcher, educator, and author in Computer Science and Information Technology. Holding a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and a Ph.D. in Computer Science, she currently serves as an Assistant Professor and Coordinator for the M.Sc. Information Technology programme in the Department of Computer and Information Science at Nagindas Khandwala College (Empowered Autonomous), Mumbai, affiliated with the University of Mumbai.
Her core academic and research interests span Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Cyber Security, Database Systems, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, AR/VR, Recommender Systems, and technology-enabled learning aligned with NEP 2020. Her published research covers interdisciplinary domains such as AI-assisted creative tools, machine learning-based fraud detection, sentiment analysis, social media analytics, malicious URL detection, digital payment behavior, disease outbreak prediction, sales forecasting, inventory management, and AI-driven decision-making, as well as digital transformation in business, leadership, and education.
A dedicated innovator, Dr. Garg holds two Government of India design patents: "AI Based Goggles for Visually Impaired" (Design No. 412264-001) granted in 2024, and "Cyber Threat Behavior Analyzing Device" (Design No. 465718-001) granted in 2025. These patents reflect her commitment to developing practical solutions in assistive technology and cybersecurity.
Her scholarship is backed by competitive research funding. In 2024, she completed an institutionally funded Minor Seed Money Project titled "Exploring the Integration of Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence to Optimize STEM Education for Student Learning Enhancement" with a grant of ₹40,000. Continuing her research momentum, she secured funding in 2026 for the project "A Study on the Impact of Generative AI on Undergraduate Students' Cognitive Skills and Critical Thinking."
Dr. Garg actively shapes higher education through extensive institutional and scholarly service. She frequently reviews scholarly papers covering Generative AI, Distributed Systems Security, Blockchain, Smart Computing, and Cyber Security. Additionally, she has served as a Vice-Chancellor's Nominee and Subject Expert for Selection Committee Interviews and contributed as a Resource Person for Faculty Induction Programmes.
